Security and Response team

In addition to the hall specific arrangements, the University Security and Response team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to deal with security incidents and provide emergency support.

You can contact the security team on extension 8999 or by calling +44 (0)1334 46 8999.

Emergency services

For the police, the fire brigade or an ambulance: dial 999 from your mobile or 9 999 from a University phone, then inform the Duty Manager or the Duty Warden.

NHS 24: call 111 from your mobile phone or dial 1045 from a University phone.

Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm: call the Student Health Hub on +44 (0)1334 46 5777 for advice or 999 if you need an ambulance.

Weekdays and all weekend, 5pm to 8am: call NHS24 for advice on 111 from your mobile phone or dial 1045 from a University, or call 999 (9 999 from a University phone) if you need an ambulance.

Weekdays from 7pm to 8am and weekends from 2pm to 8am call your Duty Warden for basic first aid, advice and support. Always let the Warden know if you go to hospital.

Meal times

Catered students based at Whitehorn Hall will dine at University Hall. Meals are served at the following times:

Monday to Friday

Breakfast: 8am to 9.30am
Lunch: 12 noon to 1.30pm
Dinner: 5.30pm to 7pm

Saturday and Sunday

Breakfast: 8am to 10am
Lunch: 12 noon to 1.30pm

Facilities

Mail - You can collect mail and unregistered parcels from Crush Hall (outside the dining room of University Hall). For registered parcels, the residence team will send you an email when your parcel arrives with details for collection. Due to import duty and VAT, all personal parcels must be marked 'Personal'.
